Remember when I said I was going to visit Katie? It already feels like so long ago. But it was so much fun and just what I needed! We spent our time doing crafts, drinking wine, eating delicious food, and watching episodes of Parks and Recreation. Perfect weekend, right? Right. Now that we've got that settled...
Can we talk about this oxblood craze for a second, please? The name just seems so...gruesome? I'd much prefer to be wearing a color called burgundy, plum, sangria, wine, or even maroon, than a color named after the blood of an ox. Has anyone else thought about this? Just me?
Added bonus for the weekend - Mom stopped by for a visit!

Road Trip
by Crystal
This past weekend, E and I took a little road trip to meet his family in Atlanta (they drove up from FL). It was our first time meeting our new nephew! He's about six weeks old and completely adorable. There were definitely some moments that made me want one of my own, but mostly, I was just happy to give him back to his mama when he started crying. :)
Anyway, it was about a five hour drive - which for me, means dress comfortably. Sitting for extended periods of time coupled with too tight of jeans, or a shirt that keeps riding up makes for a very looooong car ride. My solution? A t-shirt, cardigan, boots, and jeggings. Yes, I said it. I hate that word, but love these pants.

transitions.
by Crystal
It's really hard to get dressed this time of year. When I woke up, it was about 40 degrees. Seriously. I had to put the heater/defroster on in my car on the way to my morning yoga class. But then it warmed up to about 75 degrees. How does one dress for that? Well, if you are like I was today, you change clothes about four times. Weird weather coupled with my day of indecisiveness made it especially hard.
This is what I ended up with - a favorite shirt of mine that I've had for years, and if I could, would wear every other day, along with a new pair of $4 shorts from Old Navy. A major bonus of the seasonal transition - getting summer clothes on super sale! Try saying that five times fast.

wedding attire.
A few weeks ago, E and I had the pleasure of heading back to LA to attend the wedding of one of our great friends. He met an awesome girl who we are happy to welcome into our family of friends.
I love dressing for weddings. Scratch that. I love any reason to get dressed up. But this year, I couldn't wear just any dress, no no no. I had to put some thought into it. This was my first brunch wedding - I wasn't sure if an earlier wedding was more casual than an evening wedding? We were going to be outside all day - I needed to think cool (literally and figuratively). And most importantly, my very own wedding dress is strapless - I needed a dress that wouldn't give me tan lines.
I took to the internet. Actual shopping is a little harder to do when you live in a town where most people get their clothes at the Super Wal-Mart. I found myself on the Forever 21 website. Ok, I know I'm not a 15 year old girl anymore, but seriously my friends, sometimes I just can't resist a $10 dress.
So that's what I got. Actually, I think it may have been $20 or so. Paired it with these wedges (that I'm obsessed with), and an "E" necklace, and I was set!
Some of what I wore, and what others wore (as capture through photos of drinks and dance).

Hey there, Delilah. What's up, Dorothy?
by Crystal
Day 10 of #StyleMeMay: Plain white shirt. I went with a tee. Whenever I think of plain white tee's, "Hey there, Delilah" gets stuck in my head. I just did it again...uggggggh.
Day 11: Color below the ankles. I haven't worn these flats much because they're just a LITTLE too small. But I'm hoping if I wear them more they'll stretch out. They're just too cute not to wear. They remind me that "there's no place like home." Heck yes, Wizard of Oz reference.
